Restore It - Don't Strip It!
With a simple wipe-on, wipe-off process, most finished wood surfaces that seem to need a complete refinishing job can be restored in a few minutes. White heat rings, and water marks, sun fade, smoke damage and most other blemishes can be quickly eliminated. Before you go to the extreme of stripping it, try restoring it.
Purchased to see if this would help restore 15yr old kitchen cabinets that were timber veneer or laminate. Suspect veneer- I’m not knowledgeable enough to know for sure. The cabinets had faded and dried over time. The restor-a-finish did put some colour back in, I had expected more depth to the colour (I’d been worried cherry might even be too dark) - it was more of a very very light tint effect but it definitely helped. I did 2 coats of restor-a-finish, very easy to apply, and then followed up with the sun shield to try and seal and protect. Overall I’m happy with how it turned out - minimal cost investment compared to new cabinets. I think I’ll do this yearly to try and extend the life and look of the kitchen.
